  1. Population and dissenters: Twenty six Families. Of these no Dissenter of any Sort or Denomination whatsoever.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no School at all, but What is kept by a poor Woman who teaches five Children to read & to say the Catechism.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: The only Benefaction left to this Parish is two Shillings per Annum (paid out of an Estate called Durplight in the adjoining Parish of Shebbear) which is applied by the Parish (according to the Will of the Donor) to the Use of the Poor.

  4. Residence upon cure: Mr. William Herring Rector resides upon his Living of Botess Fleming in ye County of Cornwall.

  5. Curate: I who subscribe to these Queries am the residing Curate & live in the Parsonage House. My Allowance is 30 pounds per Annum, as mentioned in your Lordship’s Licence.

  6. Divine service at other churches: No.

  7. Frequency of divine service: Every Lord’s Day twice, with a Sermon in the Morning, and Holy-Days.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four Times.

  9. Number of communicants: There are sixty five or thereabouts who exceed the Age of Sixteen. Twenty or more usually receive. Thirty two communicated at Easter last past.

  10. Catechising of children: On Sundays and Holy-Days yearly The Parishioners take Care that their Children and Servants, who have not learned their Catechism, be present at such times.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: No.
